Javier, Ángela, Guille, and Marta attended the 5th International Brain Stimulation Conference, held in Lisbon from February 19 to 22, 2023. The event featured a wide range of fascinating talks, from cellular-level discussions about how non-invasive brain stimulation techniques affect cells, to more clinical presentations on combining TMS with EEG recordings and other methods.
Our collaborators from Neurolectrics were also present, presenting their work through both a poster and a workshop. They focused on using computational models to personalize tACS (transcranial alternating current stimulation) for patients with Alzheimer’s disease.

Guille presented a poster highlighting the importance of neuronal orientation in the effects of tDCS (transcranial direct current stimulation) on the mouse cerebellum.
Meanwhile, Marta presented her research on the effects of tDCS on excitatory and inhibitory neurons, using optogenetics in mice.

The conference was an excellent opportunity to share research, gain insights, and connect with experts in the field of brain stimulation.
