Yes, scientists run too!
Last Saturday, our lab put on their running shoes and joined the 9th Popular Race of the Universidad Pablo de Olavide. A 5 km run that brought together students, staff, and runners from all of the campus.
We spend most of our time inside the lab, surrounded by data, pipettes, and mice… but this time, we traded it all for fresh air, good vibes, and a shared goal. This year’s race was not just about fitness, it supported a great cause: 1 € from each registration was donated to the Spanish Society of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Foundation (FSEHOP) for their project “Tus kilómetros nos dan vida” (“Your kilometers give us life”), which supports children with cancer.
It was a fun activity where our main goal was simply to finish the race, mission accomplished! To top it all off, our PhD student Marta even got lucky and won a T-shirt in the post-race raffle!
It was a day full of energy, team spirit, and purpose.
See you at the next race! 🏃
